MEET OUR FOUNDER

February 6th, 2026, I birthed the creation of Spirit Mind & Body Yoga. The full vision was not complete at the moment, but I knew where I wanted to go with SMB. I have lived an eventful life thus far and accomplished many things along the way. One of those events, I was not prepared for, sat me down for two months straight. Thirty-two years of living, striving, hustling, and overachieving. Yet it wasn’t until I was diagnosed with a disorder closely related to the Nervous and Neurological system that I was forced to address these things. To pause and reevaluate what I now know as performing. My Nervous System began to shut down and everything I had worked so hard for flashed before my eyes. On my two-month hiatus I desperately needed something that would help heal, restore, and regulate my damaged Nervous System. Despite attending random inconsistent yoga classes a few times over the years, I tried again. This time with intention it stuck. I fell in love with how time slows down in such a chaotic and busy world. I fell in love with the empowerment gained from no longer feeling like everything is happening to me yet now for me. Next thing I knew I was signed up for a YTT (Yoga Teacher Training) program. I attended different yoga studios out of curiosity, variety and to silently take notes from experienced instructors. After always being the only melanated student, I quickly realized the huge lack of diversity in the Yoga community. I knew very soon after I wanted to create a safe space where melanated and cultured women also felt comfortable, seen, and heard. Where we can see ourselves reflected back at us from our instructors and peers. I knew I had to create that space…… Welcome to Spirit Mind & Body Yoga.
